Government has nominated four people to serve on the board of its investment holding company National Enterprises Ltd (NEL). They are Jerry Hospedales, Vishnu Dhanpaul, Janet Parks and Dr Ferri Hosein.
According to a notice posted on the T&T Stock Exchange (TTSE), a special meeting of NEL’s shareholders is scheduled for January 29 at 10 am at the Radisson Hotel, Wrightson Road, Port-of-Spain, to appoint directors to the board.
Incorporated on August 27, 1999, NEL was formed to consolidate the Government’s shareholding in select state enterprises, and facilitate a public offering on the T&T Stock Exchange.
The company has a 600 million issued shares in industries that drive the country’s economy, natural gas and energy-based manufacturing, telecommunications and the marketing and manufacturing of food basics.
These include 51 per cent holding in the Telecommunications Services of T&T (TSTT), and 20 per cent of the shares in NGC NGL Company Ltd.
