On November 10, 2015 an article published in your newspaper headlined: “Leaking sewer closes top performing school,” I was quoted as saying: “Mr Charles Balkaran was a former chairman of the EFCL now employed with the Ministry of Education.”
I would like to state that this information was erroneous on my part and after conducting a search, I found that Mr Charles Balkaran was never employed with the EFCL. Upon receiving the contact information for Mr Balkaran I was misinformed as to his position.
I write this letter asking that my apology to Mr Charles Balkaran be published in your paper in order to right my published wrong.
I wish to state to Mr Charles Balkaran that in no way was this intentional but happened in the haste of trying to have the situation at the school rectified.
I apologise to Mr Charles Balkaran and the T&T Guardian for any inconveniences caused and do hope that my apology is published for public viewing.
Thank you for your co-operation and understanding in this matter.
Regards.
Lyndon Mohammed
