Central police are investigating the murder of a private hire taxi driver who was found dead by his family on Sunday morning.
According to police reports, Leon Goldman, 43, also known as Peter Ragoobar from Tern Drive, Edinburgh 500 was last seen by his sister Jillian Gibson. Goldman told Gibson he was going out. She heard him return home around 1.40 am on Sunday.
Gibson told the police around 10.15 am she heard a door banging. When she checked, she found the front door of the home ajar. There she found Goldman lying in a foetal position wearing checkered boxers and a bed sheet wrapped around his head. He was lying in a pool of blood. The room was ransacked.
Emergency medical services rushed to the home, but noted that Goldman showed no signs of life. District medical officer Dr Babu Reddy pronounced him dead on the scene.
An autopsy is expected to be done on the body today at the Forensic Medical Science Centre, St James.
Investigations continue.
