Josiah Trimmingham netted a goal in each half as Play When San Juan Jabloteh overcame Club Sando 4-2 to stay a point ahead of its rival in the Under-18/Reserve Division of the Flow Youth Pro League at San Juan North Secondary Ground, Bourg Mulatresse on Sunday.
Club Sando went ahead in the tenth minute via Rickson Phillip, but Trimmingham got Jabloteh level in the 34th minute for a 1-1 half-time score.
On the hour mark, Junior Assoon regained the lead for the visitors, but his team-mate Ryan Davis turned the ball into his own net to get Jabloteh back on even terms again in the 65th minute, before Jeankeon Alexander (80th) and Trimmingham, four minutes later, netted to snatch a late come-from-behind win for the host to move to 12 points from five matches, one more than Central FC.
Central FC got a double from Raheam Borde (3rd & 40th) and one from national striker Kadeem Corbin in a 3-2 defeat of Defence Force, which got both in goals from Kevaughn John, in the second and 54th minute
Third placed North East Stars, with ten points blanked Police FC 2-0 at Ojoe Road Recreation Ground with first-half items from Saleem Henry and Reon Moore.
The battle at the top of the Under-16 table is much closer with Jabloteh and Morvant Caledonia joint top on 13 points apiece, two clear of North East Stars.
Jabloteh led by a hat-trick from Kesean St Rose (53rd, 56th, 74th) spanked Club Sando while Morvant Caledonia pipped St Ann’s Rangers 1-0 thanks to a Jeromie Arindell 53rd goal, and a rampant Stars crushed Police FC 7-1 inspired by a double from Keon Boney.
However, in the Under-14 competition, Defence Force maintained the lone 100 per cent winning record in the league by outplaying Central FC 4-2 thanks to a pair of goals from Marc Wharfe.
Defence Force now has maximum 15 points from five matches, five clear Jabloteh, while the trio of Morvant Caledonia, W Connection and Pt Fortin Civic have nine points apiece.
