Even in the midst of a recession, Nestle T&T Limited will continue to do its part to contribute to the economy and T&T as a whole.
That was the commitment made yesterday by Michel Beneventi, Nestle’s country manager at the launch of a Do Some Good campaign at the company’s head office, Churchill Roosevelt Highway, Valsayn, yesterday afternoon.
“We have invested in new Tetra lines, we have introduced the production of juices in plastic bottles and we are leading the way in managing environmental issues as a local manufacturer. We are investing every year to improve our facility,” he said.
On Friday, Nestle will be rolling out the Do Some Good campaign— a day to do good in society. Representatives of the company will be at locations across T&T doing good deeds for members of the public such as giving away food and drink, paying taxi fares and helping people in general. The campaign will continue for an extended period after that day.
Beneventi said despite the negative news on the recession and other bad news, Nestle’s will continue contributing to the country. “Everyday we read bad news of the economy and that we are in recession, but we as a local manufacturer can do something for the country and give back,” he said.
He said the company has been a market leader for 54 years and a leader in the supply of milk in T&T.
“In 1962 we were invited by the then Prime Minster Dr Eric Williams who had approached Nestle and asked if they could assist the Government to develop the dairy industry. Did you know that we are the largest local producer of liquid milk using our very own local fresh milk? Did you know that our Nestle Full Cream Milk is made solely from the fresh milk collected from the dairy cows in T&T?,” he asked.
