I wish I could write a love-filled soliloquy talking about how nice she was and how much I liked her, but truly, I really did not know her personally so there isn’t much I can say about her. But I do know that every time she saw me, she made sure to smile and wave. Which is nice considering that kind of common courtesy is not generally displayed that much these days. To always be seeing her playing with Silver Stars and seeing her bubbly spirit on stage, warmed my heart.
When I found out that a body was found, of course I was upset, but to find out that it was her’s was even worse. Again, I really do not know anything about her, but as a fellow pan-player and as a citizen of T&T, this kind of news was devastating. No human being on this earth should even contemplate hurting, far less murdering another.
I love Carnival, but to then hear all this awful news afterwards, makes it bittersweet. During this time we are supposed to be happy and enjoying other people’s company not destroying it. It’s crazy that her family and friends back in Japan said goodbye to her fully expecting to see her back home, not knowing that this would be the outcome. She was supposed to be on a happy trip, instead this is what has happened.
Now her family and friends have to find out this sad news from thousands of miles away. As a human being I find this situation and any other events similar to this, absolutely atrocious. Condolences to her friends and family.
