Being the Parliamentary Representative for the constituency of La Horquetta/Talparo of which I am a resident, it is with great pleasure that we the residents take this opportunity to congratulate you, firstly, on winning your seat and secondly on being given the portfolio of Minister of Communication.
We are a fledging community located at Greenvale La Horquetta, and after a year of residency, our plea for light poles, pavements, transportation hub and Internet service here fallen on deaf-ears.
Constant interaction with providers TSTT and Columbus Communications have left us in no man’s land. We are constantly being referred to HDC and no one at that agency seems to care. As our representative, I place our plight into your hands. With the aid of our new minister of housing and your intervention, we are hoping to be a happy productive community.
Minister Cuffie, we know you are busy and that your schedule is tight, but that is no reason for us to be neglected as we are. Today our hopes are daily receding and this has nothing to do with our expectation being too high. It has to do with a lack of visibility by our MP with whom we will like to discuss our problems. So please try and meet with us in Greenvale, Mr Minister and, on behalf of the residents here, I can assure you that you will not regret it.
