
National shooter Kalifa Mc Collin and Jillisa Allan combined for all the goals as defending champions, University (UTT) crushed Police Y 71-13 to improve to 2-0 in the Premier Division of the All Sectors Netball League (ASNL) at the Eastern Regional Indoor Sports Arena, Tacarigua on Saturday night.
Mc Collin, a member of the World Cup last year in Sydney, Australia was near perfect as she tallied 40 goals from 43 attempts and Allan added 31 from 40 for UTT which was always in command of the match from the first quarter and led 21-5, 35-9 and 54-9 at the intervals.
For Police Y, former national basketballer, Patrice Goring had seven from 13 attempts, Jiselle Navarro five from 11 and Jenice Mc Intosh, one of two.
In the day’s first Premier Division match, T&T captain, Joelisa Cooper did just enough to lead Police X to a hard 35-30 cooling of Fire Service.
Cooper ended with 29 goals from 46 attempts while Shivaughn Skeete added four from eight, and Tia Bruno, two from six attempts for the Law-women who held narrow leads of 9-8, 18-16 and 26-22 at the end of the first three quarters.
For Fire Service, national player, Afeisha Noel converted 16 goals from 22 attempts in her first match while former national standout, Simon Morgan chipped in with 14 from 19.
In the Championship Division, Jabloteh and UTT had close wins over University of the West Indies and Police, 36-26 and 33-27 respectively.
And in the Alternative Division, TSTT cooled Fire Service 37-19 behind Chantael Perry’s 17 goals from 24 attempts and 16 of 32 by Sophia Harper.
