The call from the mayor of Chaguanas for a Center for the Performance Arts is too late as his leader is now in the opposition. While she was prime minister and constructing buildings in abandon sugar cane fields she never remembered Chaguanas.
One party member said to me she would not do anything in Chaguanas while Jack Warner was MP.
Mr Mayor, please concentrate on the traffic problems in the area and try to solve it. Thanks to Mr Warner the problems at the overpass in Endeavour were solved. The health situation is bad with doubles vendors selling in the nastiest places. Even the “super minister” Dr Rambachan, who live less than two minutes away, did little to fix the area.
The call for City Status by the mayor and the Chamber of Commerce president is madness. Right now the area is a flea market town and not even managed as a borough, so city status is a waste of time.
Ramsaran Street is a racing strip; not even a white line to separate the six lanes of traffic. People parking anywhere and vendors blocking the street with trucks and vans. Total madness in Chaguanas and the mayor saying nothing.
Mayor, please fix Chaguanas. The local election coming and the people would decide if to keep the UNC or go with the PNM or ILP and people not stupid now.
