Rum connoisseur Andre Crichlow is producing a series about the popular Caribbean spirit and its place in the fabric of societies across the region. Crichlow, who successfully produced a television series about motorsport in the region just over a decade ago, now wants to tell the story of rum.
Rum The Concept is the title of the project and he revealed plans for it to the media at Shakers on the Avenue earlier this month. Interestingly, the official launch of the series will be at the Mc Leod’s All Inclusive Fete on January 10 at the Anchorage Entertainment Centre in Chaguaramas.
According to Crichlow, Rum the Concept will be a travel and culture series designed to provide a memorable television viewing experience for a Caribbean and international audience. It is intended to be insightful and historical, while exploring future prospects for the industry.
His vision is to use the history of rum as a tour guide about its classifications and the environments in which it is produced.
