Interesting scenes are being played out at agencies which are under the portfolio of Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ms Marlene McDonald.
Ms Mc Donald began by changing income qualification policies and allegedly directing house allocation systems. She is reported to have read the riot act to senior management reminding them of who is the boss.
She threw her weight around by visiting housing sites and putting a stop to all further construction. She exploded in Parliament as to the directions of HDC and Udecott.
Suddenly new boards appeared and the chairmen took charge. The Prime Minister alluded to the role and responsibility of minister and board. Heads began to roll and other heads were brought in.
Now near silence from Marlene. She now feebly says that boards must be unfettered and laments that the chairmen have not spoken to her or informed her at all of their ongoing actions!
It seems that Marlene has lost her weight!
