A man has been crushed to death this morning while loading steel onto a truck in an accident in Freeport.
According to reports, Ryan Maharaj, 31, died on the spot earlier this morning, when a tonne of steel accidentally fell on him.
It is believed that around 8.30am, Maharaj, a worker of Reesal Industries Ltd, hardware in Freeport, was loading the steel onto a truck on the compound when it became loose and fell on him.
Maharaj, of Dyette Estate, Cunupia, was at his workplace when the incident occurred.
Investigations are continuing.
